    The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) will hold a SupportMusic Community Forum on October 20, 6 p.m. at Cuthbertson High. Educators, parents and community members are invited to attend and participate in a disucssion about music education. Cuthbertson High is located at 1400 Cuthbertson Road in Waxhaw, NC.

  • Who's a Hometown Hero at your school?

    Each month a Union County Public Schools teacher will be named a Hometown Hero. The winning teacher will receive $250 for classroom supplies and a pizza party for his/her class. The nominations are ongoing throughout the school year. Click here to nominate a teacher.

  • 20 Union Elementary teachers each surprised with $50 gift cards

    Thanks to a $50 gift card from the Teacher Rewards program, fifth-grade Union Elementary teacher M’lissa Cianes can see an idea come to life – Flashlight Friday. To help offset the estimated $1,000 a year teachers spend out of their own pockets for classroom supplies, Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club representatives surprised 20 teachers at Union Elementary with a total of $1,000 in gift cards Wednesday, (Oct, 7).

    Piedmont Middle students honor local officers

    Piedmont Middle seventh graders decided to show local law enforcement officers that they care and appreciate their hard work. With the help and direction of their teacher, Lesa Goodman, a seventh-grade communication skills teacher at Piedmont Middle, about 325 letters were sent out, written by the entire Piedmont Middle seventh-grade class.
