  • Mr. Spencer’s phone message to Shiloh families on 2/23/17:

Good evening Shiloh families, this is Mr. Spencer with a few announcements. First, I want to thank everyone who came out to support our 100th year celebration on Saturday, February 18. We estimate that we had about 600 people celebrate Shiloh's birthday throughout the whole day. That was a wonderful way to show our support for such an amazing school. Thanks to all staff, PTA members, and parent volunteers who lent their time with all of those events. I truly appreciate that.

Please note that our chocolate sale is well underway. Thank you to everyone for supporting the sale so far. The sale will run until Tuesday, February 28. We appreciate everyone's support in making sure our students remain safe during the sale, and do not walk by themselves door to door selling the chocolate. Our chocolate sale is our main fundraiser for the year, so thank you again for supporting it.

Read Across America Week will take place next week from February 27-March 3. We have special events planned for each day! You can find these events listed on our website and in our office. Help us to support literacy not only next week but every week.

Our 3rd grade students will participate in the Books and Brackets reading challenge that all UCPS 3rd graders will take part in from February 27-March 31. 3rd grade students will track their reading minutes and we hope that Shiloh is one of the winning schools for this challenge. If we are one of the Elite 8 schools, our 3rd grade students will attend a celebration at Wingate University on March 31. Informational flyers will go home with 3rd grade students on Monday. Good luck 3rd graders!

Thank you and have a good night.
