Announcements

  • Our eighty third graders are gearing up for March Madness with “Books and Brackets.” All 30 elementary schools in Union County will participate in a reading challenge Feb. 27 – March 31.  For five weeks, students will record the number of minutes read while at school and at home. Beginning March 10, the school system will announce the top reading schools each Friday and show how schools are moving through the bracket to the winning spot.  All third graders from the top eight schools with the highest average minutes read per student will be honored at Wingate University on March 31, and the winning schools will receive additional reading resources. WE WANT PROSPECT TO BE IN THE TOP EIGHT!

We know our third graders are ready to work our way through the bracket to make it to the “Elite 8” and be able to be honored at Wingate University.  If you have any questions, please contact your child’s teacher.  We look forward to the “Books and Brackets” program being a success at Prospect.

  • At the beginning of each school year, we have each teacher fill out an information sheet that includes their birthday, favorite things, favorite store, favorite colors, etc. If you would like a copy of your child's teacher's favorite things sheet, please contact the school office and one will be sent home with your child.
