  • 2016-17 Early Release Days

    Union County Public Schools will have four Early Release Days during the 2016-17 school year. The days will allow teachers and staff to participate in professional development sessions. On Early Release Days, lunch will be served and buses will run according to the adjusted schedule.   • Dr. Jonathan Tyson is named 2016-17 Principal of the Year

    A product of Union County Public Schools, Dr. Tyson was chosen as this year’s top principal during Thursday’s (Oct. 13) Principal of the Year Luncheon held at the Professional Development Center on Brewer Drive. Vera Woolard of Marvin Ridge Middle School, was chosen as the 2016-17 Assistant Principal of the Year.

  • Four principals recognized with Team UCPS award

    Each month, Superintendent Dr. Andrew Houlihan recognizes principals for extraordinary leadership skills. Four Union County Public Schools principals were honored at the October General Principals’ Meeting held Thursday, October 13, 2016. Dr. Kim Fisenne of Central Academy of Technology and Arts was recognized for CATA being name a National Blue Ribbon School. The school was one of 329 schools nationally to receive the prestigious award.

    UCPS teachers are LIFTed higher by mini grants

    Union County Education Foundation (UCEF) has brought smiles to 22 Union County Public Schools teachers by surprising them with LIFT grants. Teachers can apply for the yearly LIFT (Leadership and Innovation Funding for Teachers) Grants, which award from $100 to $500 for technological advancements, classroom enhancements and educational programs.
